Video Blogging. Enhance Your Presence With Video On Hubpages, A Website, An Article Or Blog
61Vlogging, The Story So Far
I have seen over the 12 months that I have been here, a bright and interesting bunch of people here on HubPages both the writers and those who run HubPages.
Consider that the staff have been working there collective beehives off on always looking and trying - differing ways on improving the site.
Consider that the writers here - over 200,000 have a whole gamut of various people with different skills, experiences and knowledge all of us, ready and willing to share that with you the reader.
There are some here that make us laugh, cry and at times feel like we have an extended family. I myself have a bunch of folk that I have learnt from and I will most likely never stop learning from them.
For writers here and HubPages staff alike, the last 6 months has been a difficult, awkward, and at times, a really hard place to be associated with, many writers have left and those of us that stayed, began to wonder if this nightmare with very bad traffic from the search engines, would ever end. Fortunately, for all of us that do see some light at the end of the tunnel, that wait is starting to bear fruit.
Goals And Ways To Be Different From Other Writers
So for my own goals and just to do something not done before for my own account here on Hubpages, I have tried something with a little difference. Traffic is coming back, but I am always looking to push boundaries of writing articles. One of the ways I am attempting to push is by applying video to my articles.
Initially, a video of me as a profile introduction, I have attached a link to my Hub Profile (If you are not familiar with site navigation, clicking my user name will take you to my profile) to illuminate and give an idea of who I am as a writer to my readers. Its great and most likely fine reading about who I am, but one picks up so much more with a video.
You get to see how I look, how I sound including the particular inflections of my Australian accent. You hear me speak about what interests me and why I am motivated to write.
A video for articles or blogging is known as a vlog, which is short for video log. A vlog is simply a format or platform for recording a video with one or more people speaking about a subject or area of interest.
The benefits from this style of format are different than simply writing text for an article. You get to capture a reader in a way that written word does not. You as the viewer also get the 'feel' of a discussed subject and that person in the video may convey it in a way that is slightly offbeat or humorous, the delivery of the subject is something you may find additionally appealing. Its a great way to bring back your 'readers' for more.

Do videos work for articles?
In a current market of the internet and content based sites, I feel that video will certainly have a place. Social networking and using tools for gaining exposure for your articles is a never ceasing task.
Over time, I am hoping that video will perform an additional ally to 'gaining backlinks' for our articles. Think that it will be useful, not just on HubPages, but on any sites where you, as a content creator, have your work based. This is something of a trial, or test for me and my account, and it may all come to naught. But me or someone else out there, in time, will create a series of videos that will simply go viral, and change there life, one day...

Video does seem to be the new emerging article, just like social media seems to be the vehicle to 'get the word out'
Hubpages has started to use its own site as a video host. This means a Hubber can write an article and attach video to the hub that will be hosted on HubPages rather than on another site. Revenue is also predicted to be part of the bases of if you get enough video views it will generate income.

I saw an article about Videos for content just a couple of days ago. I have been thinking of doing that exact same thing. I wasn't so sure how to go about doing it. Thanks for confirming that this is a good idea!
