Protecting Your Valuable Assets

Known to many people around the world, Magic The Gathering is a very unique kind of game, and it's wide appeal. These games also hold value to those who collect cards of the game and over time this has made this known as a 'collectible card game'. With these items being printed on paper, continued usage or handling damages the cards over time.

Every time you bring out your cards to play, you expose them (potentially) to sunlight, dirt, grime, grease, sweat, foodstuffs, bends, folds and scratches by friction. If you are an avid collector more so than a game player, damage in any way shape or form is tantamount to having an item of value into one of useless value. Conversely, if your more an avid player rather than a collector, you would still want a way for your cards for your decks to be stored safely and out of sight and away from potential damage when not in use. Hence a great need for all your precious cards to be protected.

In addition, these forms of protectors are also straight forward use for any other type of card game, including regular playing cards! Got a hot deck from a casino in Vegas, well get them protected!

The Various Forms Of Protection

There are great products that are designed for protecting and maintaining your collection. Items like, folders, card sleeves, deck boxes and carrying cases. All of these serve a useful purpose and allow for various means of having the best storage or the most useful form of transporting your cards, whilst providing maximum protection, let's explore these in more detail.

Folders are an absolute ideal way to display your most valued cards and have them admired by your friends and foes, without them needing to directly handle your investment. Ideal also for long term storage on your desk or library shelf. Don't forget to invest in folder sleeves as well

Card Sleeves are perfect for rugged use within game play, very handy when spillages of drink or food happen as well. Yet I would recommend refraining from eating and drinking during play. Versatile to be stored in folders.

Deck Boxes are a very good way to have bulk storage of your less often played common and uncommon cards in your collection.

Carrying Cases are that must have for utilizing and storing your killer deck for friendly play and for all tournament activity.

Card Sleeves

Card Sleeves - Individual sleeves designed to protect a single card. Made of a thin, acid free, durable and clear plastic, for an individual card, this is the best means of protecting cards in your growing collection.

A great boost nowadays are themed card protectors, plastic protectors tinted with different backgrounds or colors. Many assorted designs and colors to choose from.

Many players competing within tournaments also use these to protect their most commonly used cards and decks, this makes a lot of sense with knowing that there is potential for hours and hours over many months of card use in these tournaments can get rather rough on playing cards. It is relatively straight forward and a low cost to obtain replacement protective sleeves rather than replacing cards.

Card Collectors Album, Cardboard Holders & Refill Pages

For a convenient and great way to have a long term storage of multiple cards, yet the convenience of being able to display each card you own, these collector albums and refill sheets allow for you to display all your cards, yet keep them safe from sun, dirt and potential folding.

Collector albums also contain great and fascinating themes and artwork on the front over and can, with enough sleeves, hold entire collections of sets.

Corrugated Cardboard Card Holders.

Corrugated cardboard card holders allow a great way to hold all those various extra common and uncommon cards you seem to keep growing and hold them safely tucked away (to later be traded on or sold in bulk!).

How to Shuffle A Deck With Cards In Sleeves

Shuffling cards is a relatively easy skill to develop, yet it does take some additional practice to do the same when your cards have plastic sleeves on them. The thickness of the whole deck can thicken considerably.

Take your time, practice often and see this happen in the video below to help you understand the process.

Additional Uses

Consider additional uses for your equipment that you purchase.

Card protectors can also be used for atm, credit or hotel swipe cards, helps to protect against rubbing against on keys or loose coins.

Deck boxes are also a fantastic way to store or sell off in bulk, all those common playing and land cards that seem to pile up, especially the larger card and deck boxes.

Case protectors are also a great way to provide a premium or hotly sought after deck as a prize in your local tournament or as a special something extra if you are selling specific theme decks to your clients
