You play Geralt - A Witcher, in Andrzej Sapkowski novelized world of witchers, are warlocks with supernatural abilities to hunt download and destroy unnatural creatures. The game was initially released to much fanfare in October 2007 from CDPRojekt. Its popularity sprang from a world brand new to players that provided stunning visuals, interactive and unique game play with time delayed events and consequences of actions performed previously by your character (think consequences of your actions and moral choices as in other games, such as Fable or Mass Effect) and a not so clear cut black and white moral compass.

In this game, Geralt plays out in the usual medieval fashion of a plot detailing other wizards, spell users, monsters and other events that you define that may or may not affect a town, city, or even a nation. There are 3 differing camera views, top down, isometric top down & over-the-shoulder. The game utilizes a heavily modified version of the Aurora engine from Bioware (used for Neverwinter Nights 2). The game also uses a combat system that is one that is usually not seen in other RPG games (utilizing a highly modified Aurora 2007 engine purchased from Bioware).
